liquid anvil: web portfolio
(Somewhat) Organized by Time
At Liquid Anvil, design is our passion – and, not-so-coincidentally, one of the things that helps pay the bills. The bills, in turn, tend to be for cooler software and faster machines so we can design more stuff. It’s a viscous cycle, really, but we’re comfortable with it. Below you’ll find some of our latest and greatest. And hey, how cool is the JavaScript slide/portal thingy we built below? jQuery rules. Go on, click on something. We dare ya.

TwigsBistro.com
This is our third build for Spokane’s premiere homegrown chain of restaurants, Twigs Bistro & Martini Bar. Template designed and implemented for Legacy Internet Consulting.Technologies:
HTML/CSS, PHP, JavaScript/Ajax [script.aculo.us], MySQL, poMMo, Google Analytics

DanielHinckley.com
Business Catalyst template for Daniel K. Hinckley, MD, an ENT/Otolaryngologist in Idaho Falls, ID. This is Dr. Hinckley’s first site after over twenty years of practice. Site utilizes all the bells and whistles found in a Catalyst installation, along with a couple of jQuery widgets just for fun. Business Catalyst, JavaScript/Ajax [jQuery], HTML/CSS

BritonBees.com
The second [much darker, much more evil, and very heavy on the red at client request] iteration of Briton Bees, Asheville’s very own Motorcyclette builder. Don’t know what a Motorcyclette is? Go to the site. The Business Catalyst install here uses some incredibly wicked jQuery tricks in order to work – sure, anybody can do a slider, but watch what happens when you resize it. And we built it so Emmanuel can change his content himself.Technologies:
Business Catalyst, JavaScript/Ajax [jQuery], HTML/CSS
Services:
Web Design, Content Managment System, Search Engine Optimization, Geolocation

What’s brown, red & Zen? Well, not this – but we tried. The new Business Catalyst powered ecommerce site for Fossil Farms, fine purveyor of exotic and tasty meats. We did get to do some kooky things with JavaScript/Ajax to get around that ginormous gaping hole in Catalyst’s cart display and to make the menu bar at the bottom fix. Template designed and implemented for Twin Ponds Marketing.Technologies:
Business Catalyst, JavaScript/Ajax, PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS

Web Design, Content Management System, Identity Rebuild

Juanita Plummer Wilson is running for Principal Chief of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians – and will make a damn good one, if she’s got anything to say about it. We’ve built the entire package for Juanita, including magnets, yard signs, rally cards and a billboard. We also figured out Apple may be the coolest company in the universe, because they include the Cherokee Syllabary in one of their onboard fonts. For flexibility & blogging capability, her site is built in Joomla!.Technologies:
Joomla!, JavaScript/Ajax, HTML/CSS

So how often do you get the word ‘Tiki’ as description for a design element? And a logo with a font like that? All we can say is thank Elvis for Alien Skin filters. Originally implemented in WordPress and moved to Joomla!, well, because. There’s also some jQuery fun going on in the header for the slider effect. Template designed and implemented for NotesFromKris.com.Technologies:
Joomla!, JavaScript/Ajax [jQuery], PHP, HTML/CSS

HomeReverseMortgage.com
The client got burned with a CMS that wasn’t actually a CMS – or even functioning well at what it was doing – last time through and needed Customer Relationship Management capabilites as well as the capacity to content manage the site themselves. They also needed something that leveraged off their previous design and was, well, a bit staid and stolid considering their target audience. Here’s the solution, delivered in Business Catalyst. We also got to write that cool little font resizer thingabob.Technologies:
Business Catalyst, JavaScript/Ajax, HTML/CSS

SAndTJHomes.com
A REMAX firm in southern Idaho specializing in foreclosures. This is a basically a straightline flat website [not in terms of content management – it’s using Business Catalyst] that leverages MLS information ported into iframes; any of the majors would have worked fine. Business Catalyst, JavaScript/Ajax, HTML/CSS
